Inland M2 Carbine 6/45 production, True M2 marked machine gun, all Inland late production in excellent condition. Transfer includes a copy of the type written and signed note by Mrs. W.F. Marquat, wife of Major General W.F. Marquat selling this firearm along with two others in December, 1962. Rifle is all correct Inland June 1945 M2 production with nicely marked correct IO stock and handguard. General Marquat was on Douglas MacArthur's staff during WWII and was the rankling officer of the 14th AA command. He was from 1945-1952 Head of the Economics and Science Section General Headquarters for the Supreme Allied Powers - Tokyo, Japan. He was a veteran of WW1, WW2 and Korea. General Marquat died in 1960 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.  Super nice original M2 with a great history behind it.
