Best transferable MG value?

Thinking about purchasing a 2nd transferable MG. I’m all about value and smiles per dollar which is why a Mac-11 was a perfect first choice for me (.22, rare of fire adjustment, .223, etc.). I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who’s looking to purchase their first MG.

I want something I won’t have to worry about in terms of wear and tear (a receiver that isn’t likely to fail, available parts, fixable in a catastrophic scenario). Also, something that doesn’t fire too slow. My buddy has an MP40 and once you get over the “cool” factor, that thing is pretty boring to shoot compared to other MG’s.

I’m looking seriously at M16’s and 1919’s as belt-fed fire provides a whole new experience. Hoping to spend <$25k.

Mac11 is absolutely a great choice with a wide range of uppers and many diffferent rates of fire.

I wholeheartedly recommend a BRP u9/45

I can use suomi drums 50 round coffin mags and 32 rd stick mags

Built like a tank . I have never needed parts but they are dirt cheap when you need them

https://www.brpguns.com/stemple-76-45-takedown-guns-stg/

Its a dual caliber 9mm and 45acp and includes a suppressor and a Hard caseBRP1.thumb.jpg.5cf1b074074dcc6c964014d951e16139.jpg

You will find customer service many cuts above the rest.

The BRP guns are very nice. Personally though, since you already have a subgun, I think I'd post a WTB ad for a lower end M16 RR.

That's just my personal opinion though. Parts and accessories for an m16 are wicked cheap compared to most anything else. Freedom Ordnance said they are making another run of beltfed 9mm uppers. The ARES beltfed uppers are an option as well. But just a regular 10.5" or so upper is a lot of fun.

In terms of modularity and parts availability, the M16 can't be beat. The two-piece receiver also really fits your lack of wear on the serialized part requirement.

There have been a few registered receivers come through for 26k-ish recently. Offers can always be made.

$25k budget ...def get a converted shooter grade AR15 or a 1919 if you want a beltfed.

The AR15 wont give you any issues and is highly flexible ( even add a shrike to scratch your beltfed itch if you wish).

Plus it's a rifle and you already have a subgun and one that you can get a Lage upper for if you havent already ( you should !).

You mention value for fun and I presume you mean value for sale later too.... AR15 is the clear winner ...over the 1919. Your market audience for AR15 is xxxx times that of any beltfed.

1919 is THE clear best bet for a first time beltfed. But with how I'm reading your post...you aren't there yet...meaning Beltfeds are a whole can of worms....big jump in complexity and amount of gear , etc when hauling one to the range etc. It's an ordeal...all beltfeds are. Remember they were really designed for a team of people to service...esp the older ones. You are not a "team".  You will be the mother of your beltfed.

The AR15 is the clear choice here with the specs you mention.

If you just want another SMG...then Uzi maybe...if too slow throw a blackjack in it I guess.

Given your two options, I’d defiantly look at the M16! Parts aren’t hard to get, easy to maintain, plus you do many options for uppers. When I had my M16 years ago I would take my 223/556, 22lr, and 9mm uppers to my monthly SubGun sunday shooting events. Gives you a wide variety of options for one MG purchase. Plus if you want a belt fed….there are uppers for that too now.
