MFM
NOW SOLD Rare opportunity to have a Colt M4 pistol. The few “Spares” are the only legal way to have an all Colt made AR-15 or M4 Pistol. The thousands of other Colts are rifles and may never become a pistol legally. This one can go back and forth from pistol to rifle! And only if first assembled as a pistol. This lower is great for Colt collectors or interstate travel. Assemble as a pistol with any barrel length you prefer. Convert to a rifle whenever it suits you. If you are not allowed to travel with a loaded rifle-remove stock and now you have a pistol which can be loaded and concealed legally in most places. Or build a more realistic MK 18 most all of which are on Colt lowers. Only a few of these were available-basically a one time deal. They have sold for $1-1.5k when you were lucky enough to find one. This one is test fired only and just like new with the factory box. Will transfer as other. Your FFL needs to accept from individual and provide paper copy of FFL for me to ship safely. Price is $900 plus ship & ins. It has come to my attention that many Colt Collectors do not understand the situation of the status or the rarity of these Colt Spares lowers. In my opinion they are undervalued at $1.5k even. Let me explain. When you purchase any Colt lower receivers, assembled or not, removed from a rifle or not it is a rifle. All lowers sold without an upper should be listed on the 4473 as “other” by your dealer. This does not mean that you can make it into a pistol. If the manufacturer paid the tax as a rifle that is it’s status no matter what anyone might tell you. Years ago Colt accidentally or not did a one time release of a couple hundred (the Brownells Spares) that are not under rifle status. This makes them eligible to be assembled into a pistol and also makes them one of the rarest versions ever released! If you are ever lucky enough to get one of these Spares for it to legally become a pistol it must first be assembled as a pistol. Slide the stock off first and then install a upper with less than 16” bbl. Now it is first assembled as a pistol and then may also become a rifle whenever you want. The short upper must be first removed before sliding the stock on to do so legally. Also if you assemble the lower to a 16” or longer bbl. as a rifle initially it may never now legally become a pistol-the initial assembly as a pistol is necessary to legally go back and forth. That status makes these lowers so unique and rare compared to the thousands upon thousands of other Colts which are rifles only. If you need any further explanation PM me. If you need to find out the status of your lower and it is not one of these verified Spares it is 99.9+ percent certain to be a rifle. Call Colt do not take anyone’s word on it if you are not sure.
