Devildog1987
For sale is an extremely rare original Armalite AR10 Full auto/fully transferable rifle. This is not a re-welded lower nor and aftermarket lower. It is an original as manufactured by Artillery-Inrichtengen in the Netherlands and subsequently imported by Sam Cummings at Interarms to the US. Referencing the book The Armalite AR-10 by J. Evans pg. 311 shows this particular rifle being sold by Interarms to Potomac Arms on August 16th 1961. How many transferable transitional AR-10 are in the US is unknown, but it has been speculated to be as few as 13. Regardless, it is a very rare NFA firearm and does not come up often for public sale. This variant is known as the second transitional variant. It falls between the Sudanese variant and the Portuguese variant. Handguards are wood two piece with aluminum liner. Butt stock and pistol grip synthetic brown with a rubber butt padded are free of cracks or dents Overall condition is exceptional as pictures will detail. Internals are very clean as is the bolt. Rifle appears to be fired very little. Included are an original Armalite green canvas sling, 2 "waffle" pattern, magazines, 2 AI AR-10 handbooks English and Dutch, an Interarmco brochure titled "Tomorrow's Rifle Today", and the book "The ArmaLite AR-10 Rifle" by Pikula (this copy is in excellent plus condition). Item is Form 4 in New Hampshire. Price is $55K plus shipping Edited July 17 by Devildog1987 added pictures 1
carversc
What a beautiful piece of history, and considering what some much more plentiful Colt AR conversions are going for, a real bargain price. I hope whoever is wise/fortunate enough to snap this up will treat it lovingly, in the not too distant future there will be a market for people to rent out their guns to be reverse-engineered to produce commercial clones! Thanks for the great images and sharing the history!
Devildog1987
Thank you! It is a beautiful rare rifle. Too bad they don't make them like this anymore.
HHollow
The sling shown was one actually issued with a Transitional AR10, probably the same rifle. There are subtle differences between the issued slings and those occasionally available on line. It is rare to see such a sling. And the wooden forearm is hand carved. Some are even initialed by the guy that made them back in 1958. There are many AR10's semiauto kit guns with replacement wood, but it is a rare thing to see factory wood like this. And easy to tell the difference. Edited May 15 by HHollow
