AlexL Posted March 19, 2023 Report Share Posted March 19, 2023 (edited) I have a MG42 World War II, 8mm German chrome lined bore barrel for sale. It is in new condition, save for some minor storage marks on the outside gathered over the last 70 years. According to Folke Myrvang's book they were manufactured in the last year of the war, and last twice as long as a normal barrel. I have one of these barrels in my MG42, and I have fired over 7,000 rounds of Romanian ammo with the barrel showing minimal wear. The chrome bore also makes it very easy to clean. Barrel is marked with the "cr" mark, and is also marked "bhy" and "8AL" in the locking piece. I have only seen three German WWII new chrome barrels in 40 years of collecting. I am keeping a spare, so I only have one available as shown in the pictures. I have been told that they are pretty rare.
