Agreed, a long time dealer with super positive feedback that offers soup-to-nuts white glove treatment in the transfer process will get premium prices, but I would not consider his prices (buying or selling) to be an analog for us normal folk.

Personally, I think $32k is a quick sale price, $35k is a fair price, $38k is a price where you can sit on it for a bit...send pictures to the picture collectors...and eventually sell for close to that.

This 100% BNIB unfired Colt 701 has been sitting on the market at $55k for 7+ years. I don't think it's possible to get a cleaner, more current M16 transferable aside from those Colt remanufactured receivers. At ~100 rounds yours has apparently seen very little wear and $40k-$45k seems reasonable ask.
