UPS and Fedex Supposedly Will not Ship NFA Items

Morphy Auction House does a few Hundred NFA items a year and informed me
that NFA Items have to go US Postal System

I dont have doubts that they are correct since they do so many transfers

I dont tell carriers what I am shipping but if something gets lost
maybe insurance may not pay off if there is a violation of UPS or Fedex Rules
Many of our Members ship or receive NFA items so its very Important

This is a major problem.  As a non-FFL I cannot ship handguns or NFA items to an out of state FFL/SOT through USPS.

Handguns are not a real problem, I have an FFL who would run them through his books ship them for me but NFA items are a whole different situation.  Without transferring them to him at a cost of $200 and several months additional wait he could not do this.

you don't have to transfer it to him for him to ship it.  Just go with him to the PO

You can ship NFA w/o a fll through usps. The only gotcha for the usps is the "concealable" clause.  If thats a concern see line one.

"FFLs like myself need to know regarding shipping and receiving Machineguns"

Shipping a M.G is where the water gets muddy, because they (UPS, Fedex, exc) want it that way. They do not want our business because they are Anti Second A.

USPS registered mail seems to be the only Safe way to ship. Just in case something goes missing, at least you stand a chance of getting any insurance to pay, but not likely from what I have seen over the last 19 years.

What a shipping company does not know, is what works best for a dealer.

I am Still a little confused on this

Morphys NFA specialists told me only  machineguns not suppressors, SBRs,etc

FFLs like myself need to know regarding shipping and receiving Machineguns

I have the skippy now on conventional handguns and long guns.

they can only ship from FFL to FFL and the shipping FFL must have a signed contract with Fedex or UPS

UPS and Fedex reps told me no Automatic Weapons and they are looking into letting me know

about suppressors,SBRs and SBS's

We have and have had a Fedex and UPS account for years. Our sales reps come by every 30/60 days to check in, brings us some donuts or pizza and let us know the latest shipping promotions. They never said anything about the current news on shpping changes so this past time they came by I asked them about it. They said not to worry about it, just keep on like we are doing. It's just talk to keep the others happy, they don't want to loose any shipping money to usps. We ship and insure the firearms of all types and only had minor mishaps here and there over the years.

Hmmm...just got a full auto delivered UPS Ground.  I ship USPS registered mainly for the cheap insurance.  Never differentiate between full auto or not.  That's none of their business.  It is a collectible firearm.  Next.

As FFL, I have received MANY firearms (including handguns) shipped USPS by individuals.  None were sent overnight...  Never had an issue.
