It allows use of inexpensive .22LR ammo in place of a .223 or 5.56mm. The units in this ad are the selective fire (semi and full auto) M16 version of the Ciener Atchission unit and contains the additional parts that allow it to function not only on semi-auto but also fully automatic if you own a full auto M16 or converted AR-15 rifle or carbine. It should be noted that this device does not make your semi-auto AR-15 firearm shoot full auto unless the firearms is already a full auto firearm.
