About Me

  1. Very Nice Mid War Version of the 1928A1. Actually Auto Ordnance took 1928a1 for commercial sale and Stamped "C" over the 1 so it reads Model 1928AC This is a very clean example with looks to have most of its original finish, not reparkerized. And since these were sold to police departments or commercial sales, they did not see much use.Shipping Included. Ships With a period correct drum and 30 round magazine. Fully Transferable .Lower is a AO in the same Serial Range with a "X" suffix properly added to the serial number .The Frame also has the "x" added to the number as Mentioned in the Literature. They are not GI or US Purchased Thompsons used by the US Military during the WarI. In almost every case as in this one a AO Prefixed Receiver was Mated to a AO Prefixed Frame.Documented Sales of the 1928a1 ended in October of 1942 and this variation begsn in 1943 and continued until 1946 under Maguire Industries. Most were sold to Law Enforcement Agencies. This variation is Mentioned in Frank Iannamico's book American Thunder as the Third Variation with Smooth Barrel, L sight. This is a "must have": for the Thompson Collector as it is its own Variant. This is on a Form3 And will be E filed for Immediate Transfer $22,500

  3. This is a very nice condition Thompson Bridgeport model 1928AC .45 caliber submachinegun transferable. This will come with the FBI case, one Crosby and one Bridgeport 50 round drum and four 30 round magazines, of which one is a Seymour, one a Bridgeport and the other two standard US. This is a rare variation with numbers matching on the upper and lower receivers. SOLD This is a steal of a price for an original Bridgeport compared to what they were selling for a year or so ago. The market will eventually come back on these. Information on the 1928AC Bridgeport: An interesting variation of the Auto-Ordnance, Bridgeport produced M1928A1 Thompson that has been observed, are those Thompsons that have had the U.S. designation ground off and the A1 mark overstamped to read AC. Many of the guns documented had been refurbished, and fitted with the smooth barrels and the “L” style fixed rear sight. Many, but certainly not all, of these guns so altered were in the 150,000 to 152,000 serial number range. A letter X was added as a suffix on the serial numbers of many of these guns. A few other examples of these “1928AC” Thompsons documented were fitted with the finned barrel and Lyman adjustable rear sight. A small number of these Thompsons had their original military horizontal foregrip replaced with the early style vertical foregrip. It is believed that these were guns that had been purchased from the government by the Auto-Ordnance Corporation and refurbished in order to be sold to law enforcement agencies after they were surplused. The Numrich Arms Corporation also removed U.S. markings from 1928 and 1928A1 model Thompsons they sold in the 1950’s. Interestingly, some of the AO “1928AC” overstamped Thompsons did not have Army Inspector of Ordnance (AIO) acceptance stamps on them, but were stamped with the Ordnance “wheel” acceptance mark. While other examples of these guns had no government inspector or acceptance stamps at all, suggesting that they were never inspected or accepted by the U.S. Government. Perhaps these guns were contract overruns or assembled from parts that remained after the government contracts were filled. However, no documentation could be located that could prove or disprove this theory. A Treasury Department IRS Form dated June 30, 1944 reveals that two Auto-Ordnance manufacture U.S. 1928A1 Thompsons with an X suffix added to the serial numbers were sold to a Massachusetts police department that year. The U.S. was ground off and the letter C over stamped on the 1 on both of the guns. Please note that the war didn’t end until the 15th of August 1945. All of the 1928 “AC” guns documented were originally manufactured by the Auto-Ordnance Corporation’s Bridgeport factory, and in almost every case had an AO prefixed serial numbered frame, although most of the frame/receiver numbers were mis-matched. The serial numbers located on the frames of these weapons also had the letter X added to them. ALL NFA rules apply. This is on a Form 3 and will transfer via eForms, very fast. Free and insured shipping within the 48 states. Payment via certified funds

  15. This C&R US Property marked, M1-A1 Thompson, serial number 635813, was made by Savage Arms in Utica, NY, under contract to Auto-Ordnance in Bridgeport, CT, and was likely manufactured during the Spring of 1943. The trigger frame serial number does not match the receiver serial number. The bolt is M1 parkerized and as such the "A1" part of the marking on the frame has been X out, the selector levers are pin-type, and the buttstock features the reinforcing cross-bolt. The buttstock is marked "MR" for Mount Rainier Ordnance Depot. The weapon has definitely been refinished. It features a very faint Ordnance wheel stamping, and is also acceptance stamped (twice) again very faint and very hard to see. Its military inspector stamp of "FJA" also very faint is from Colonel Frank J. Atwood, who was the Army Inspector of Ordnance for the Rochester, NY district beginning on June 15, 1942. Included in the sale is a reproduction Kerr sling, custom made discrete ballistic nylon case, 4 magazines and a copy of American Thunder II Second edition. Serious parties may view and test fire the gun in Wisconsin. Buyer pays all Taxes, fees and shipping. Jeff Whisler Jwhisler33@gmail.com 262-623-7450 Jackson, WI

  18. I'm selling an early AOC M1 Thompson machine gun for $20000. It is on a Form 4 in Texas. I have my FFL/SOT, but this is a personal gun. This gun is a rewat that had its barrel replaced. It was refinished after that and looks great but there is some light pitting in the receiver. I believe the pictures show the condition of the gun. Shoots great also, but I don't enjoy shooting it as much as some more modern subguns, so off it goes! Please contact me with any questions. Thanks! Mit Matelske
  19. This is an Auto Ordnance M1A1 that has the original box, manual, warranty card, and catalog! It shoots extremely well and is in perfect condition. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and insurance costs. I will pay the first stamp. $22,000 Pictures here: https://imgur.com/a/5mtf1
  20. Two very nice Thompson British Lend Lease parts kits with barrels. The top one is a Thompson 1928A1/Sold the bottom one is a Thompson M1 (Still for Sale), barrel in very good condition. When the British got these guns they changed a few things they stippled the forearms and put the sling loops on the side of the forearm. They also moved the sling loop in the back to the top of the rear butt stock and filled in the bottom with a piece of wood. Some neat history on the Lend Lease guns hard to find in this condition. Can take more photos if someone needs them. $1900 each kit or $3400 for both. Everything that is pictured on small parts included. Shipping and insurance not included. Check or Money Order Only. I can provide references if needed. I can provide more pics if someone needs them
  21. SOLD ............No Longer Available This STG M1928 was purchased new from BRP and is still in "like new" condition. The wood is from original Thompson M1928 thus had minor dings and scratches when this gun was purchased. Gun runs flawlessly. Has never had a "hickup". Actually runs better than an original Thompson 1928. Comes with a 30rd Thompson magazine and STG takedown tool (not shown). Thompson accessories like the "gangster" vertical grip will fit this gun. The overall appearance of the STG M1928 with finned barrel, Cutts compensator and detachable stock is like that of an original M1928. The exceptions being that the rectangular adapter housing for the Stemple 76/45 receiver tube is 3/16 in. taller and 3/4 in. longer than the original and the charging handle is on the side (like the Thompson M1A1) instead of the top. On form 4 in SC. $200 tax to SOT or SC resident is included in price. Price: $10,000.00 Shipped ($200 tax stamp included) Shipping to lower 48 states by USPS Registered Mail (insurance extra) Please email questions to gordonspcl@aol.com, PM, or call Thanks for looking, James History of Stemple 76/45 Takedown Guns (STG) Transferable Machine Guns In 2003, the original inventor, John Stemple collaborated with BRP Corp to make new and replacement parts for the Stemple 76/45 receivers he manufactured prior to the 1986 cutoff. From this came a series of compatible drop-on parts for the unmodified/transferable Stemple 76/45 receivers known as Stemple Takedown Gun (STG) setups. Since nothing is welded or hand fitted to these receivers, changing setups and replacing parts is fast and easy. These are the most finely built and smooth running sub-machine guns on the transferable market. Built for performance and durability BRP Corp stocks plenty of high-quality spare parts, and provide excellent service. The Stemple STG M1928 is assembled from an original Stemple 76/45 machine gun receiver, newly made Stemple-compatible parts, and several original Thompson components. The Stemple 76/45 machine gun receiver inserts into a long receiver shroud. This holds the receiver in position with lower assembly and aligns the sear opening in the Stemple receiver with the new sear in the original Thompson fire control group. The bolt guide, bolt, barrel, mainspring, buffer, and guide rod assembly is a removable unit inserted through the front of the Stemple receiver. These main wear parts are easily repaired or replaced if necessary.
