  1. I have a transferable colt M16a2 model 723...that $875 price for a complete 14.5" upper (IMO) is a good deal. I would keep it if it matches and all else is equal It's about principle...and the description vs actual sucks. Being the dealer is standing behind the deal and offered to refund your money, I'd keep the upper and move on with life...no sense cutting off your nose to spite your face. That said, I'd probably not do business with that dealer in the future unless you got consideration for this deal
  2. I will take one of the MKE (full size SP5) carriers if available. PM to follow
  3. Terry is "retired" ... only taking work from a limited number of high end clients. For a good honest once-over and assessment, I highly recommend Brad at Bahnhof machine. Brad is one of the few HK smiths that always picks up the phone and will give you all of the information you could possibly ask. His work is amazing, prompt and reasonable too!
  4. Agreed, a long time dealer with super positive feedback that offers soup-to-nuts white glove treatment in the transfer process will get premium prices, but I would not consider his prices (buying or selling) to be an analog for us normal folk. Personally, I think $32k is a quick sale price, $35k is a fair price, $38k is a price where you can sit on it for a bit...send pictures to the picture collectors...and eventually sell for close to that.
  5. HK94 started out as a rifle - cannot become a pistol. Has to have a 16" barrel or registered as a SBR. With a sear installed it can be a "host" in any form. SP5L is opposite, started out as a pistol so can mimic a rifle (rifle stock and 16" barrel) or can chop the barrel and add a cap or pistol brace. Once the barrel is shorter than 16", no rifle stock unless it is registered as a SBR
  6. Very interesting...i have an A2 approximately 3000 serial number lower (8000xxx) with the A2 reinforcements, but same exact configuration otherwise. I guess they were just grabbing lower receivers and cranking out guns as fast as possible with no regard for the new lower reinforcements.
