Thanks for the response, and I agree, I know it doesn’t take long at all to swap them out and is what I’ve been doing anyway. It was more just me being curious than anything. Some of the reading I have done indicated, the smaller hole on the booster would increase the rate of fire on a full auto however, that wouldn’t be necessary on a semi.
I’m surprised I can’t seem to just look up the answer to this question so hopefully somebody on here can help out. I am looking to switch back-and-forth from an MG42 8 mm format to the modern MG3 762 NATO and vice versa. So far my understanding is the obvious things I need to change such as feed tray and barrel, etc, but what about the flash hider? Would I be able to leave an mg3 flash hider on to fire 8mm, or do I need to switch it back to the the older MG42 flash hider? When I look at the diameter of the hole inside of the 8 mm flash hider it is obviously quite a bit larger than the modern MG3’s however, I can see clearly down the 8mm barrel I just want to be sure I’m not risking causing any damage to myself or my gun.
Been on the hunt for a modern style Mg3 adjustable stock or even an Austrian Mg 74 style stock for a while now and haven’t had much luck. Have only found custom made mg3 adjustable stocks for airsoft and have doubts that would ever work with my semi build. The Austrian 74 style stocks are also nowhere to be found I guess. So if anyone has one I’d really appreciate an offer. Also would consider a standard mg42/m53 stock if all else fails. Thank you!
