hdiel
Hi folks So I just got an approved form 3 to my dealer on a Russian milled ak weld with an rpk barrel, when I did my inspection, it appears that the barrel had a welded collar over the chamber to allow it to press into the chamber section of the receiver. Is this a common finding? Is it safe to shoot? Who is recommended to do the repair work? Thx Heath Edited February 13, 2018 by hdiel
kirk in wisc
Is this a factory gun or a conversion? Sounds like a conversion gun to me. Without pics, can't really say, but I have never seen such a thing on any of my ak47s. Jnc manufacturing can help you out on it.
eMGunslinger
Sleeping a barrel for an AK isn’t exactly something I’d recommend but if done well isn’t a problem. It all comes down to if it’ll ever move or not, I’ve done it a LOT on the RPD’s over the year and tens of thousands of rounds later they held up.
