M249/M249S Parts Question

Hey Nitzel,

No, they're totally different parts, the FA 249 uses nested roll pins in the bolt carrier group to retain the firing pin when the bolt is removed.  The SA 249 has a hole machined through the back of the bolt/firing pin to retain it.  I'm sure FN could provide a new one, as these guns are subject to recall right now anyway, if you send it back just include a note that it's missing.  If you want to find one yourself it should be easy enough, the dimensions for that pin are 5/64"x .420 long.  Hope that helps.
