Tripod question

What is the "best" AA tripod out there if one has a HK 21e and would like to shoot the gun standing up.

Money not being an issue for the tripod.

Just get a surplus Bundeswehr AA tripod, there relatively cheap and work great, here is one currently on Gunbroker http://www.gunbroker.com/item/617648868

I can vouch for the guy, I just bought one from him about a month ago.

You will still need to source an adapter to fit the HK gun to it though. KNS precision makes a picatinny adapter but you will need an adapter that will work with the block type fitting on the HK to either the MG3 round type fitting that comes with the AA tripod or one that attachés to the KNS picatinny adaper. http://www.knsprecisioninc.com/gun-parts-and-accessories/m16-parts/mg42-tripod-to-picatinny-rail-adapter.html

I don't know of anyone that makes one, you might have to get a machinist to make one.

m4a1sof, hit it right on the head,  EXCEPT the kns part he added will attach right to the MG-3 A/A mount . it attaches exactly  like one would mount a 42. then the  pic portion to your rail. the german mount works well enough but is so light, make sure all operators are experienced and prepped for the recoil. we ALWAYS chained them down to a HEAVY weight down the middle to avoid any problems.   Now we use the base of the heavy twin 42 mount with cantilevered wheels and adapter at the top. it holds the deuce and everything else. best get that tripod NOW while you still can. cheers  mike
