Scammers are out in full effect

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to share this with you gentleman as it effects us all. We just received a phone call from another SOT in regards to a gun we have for sale here. A scammer, we didn't know it was a scammer at the time, had contacted us in regards to the gun, we sent a redacted copy of the form 4, which was forwarded to the potential buyer Through the scammer. We exchanged several email regarding the gun with the scammer, he was taking our emails and changing certain information then "forwarding" our emails to the buyer. After several emails and the scammer asking for payment to be sent to MA, even though the form 4 shows us holding the gun in FL, the buyers SOT called us directly to confirm the payment going to MA. This is when both the buyers SOT and us figured out what was going on.

The sellers SOT and I forwarded each other the emails we received regarding the gun. It was interesting to say the least.

Stay safe gentleman and confirm your deals before exchanging funds.

It was very strange how the buyer and us were being filtered through a scammer. They are getting sneaky for sure. It is harder to get scammed as the seller in these transactions but this scam was taking our emails, changing information and then sending it to the potential buyer. He was instructing the buyer to send funds to "a little old lady" in MA. Luckily the buyers SOT got our information of the form 4 and called us directly.
