GunsInternational ..Your buying experience?

Recommended Posts

Up until very recently I had been having good luck buying a few rifles I had been wanting for a few years.

The last 2 sellers I  contacted through the site contact form never responded to my inquires.

The first seller from VA had .a .221 fireball rifle I was interested in. I sent a text as he suggested....Zip, nothing , it's like the guy could care less if it sold or not.

Had the same exact trouble with another seller from NY .

He had  Browning BAR in 30/06 steel receiver made in Belgium.

Same thing, no response.

Are there a lot of scammers on this site, or is this just how business is conducted these days?

Just for fun I called one of the GunsInternational sellers I contacted.

He alleges he has  a Cooper .21 in .221 fireball for sale.

His name is Brennan Welch phone # listed 540-331-8276 (Cell). Shenandoah, Va. ??

First red flag I missed, no voice mail set up on this phone number. Suspicious.....maybe.

Second red flag, avoiding direct contact only using text to initiate a sale.Suspicious,... I think so.

Text is his preferred method of communication,

Anyway at a minimum Brennan is probably NOT someone you want to buy firearms from.

The only way we're going to stop scammers and bad sellers is shining a light on them.

Cockroaches hate light.

Cheers,

R.L.

I've bought a couple things on the site.  One seller was Simpsons Ltd, which I didn't know at the time.  The other was an individual and it turned out fine.  Hope it works out for you.  I'd like to see more competition in the marketplace than GB.  Have you tried Gunsamerica as well.

Yes I've used Guns America too and had no problems. Selection is not as good as Guns International or Gunbroker though. I used to buy a lot on Gunbroker back in the 90's.

Back in the Wild West days of internet gun sales.

However I'll NEVER use Gunbroker again.

I had not used Gunbroker in a few years, so here recently I really wanted to bid on some .450 Marlin ammo.

I logged in and when I tried to bid I was directed to their verification section where they required uploading a drivers license or my passport!!

You gotta be f-ing kidding me!!

They must be smoking crack. That's total b.s. !!

The US gov can't keep top secret sites secure, and they want me to trust some piss ant internet gun sales site with my personal info.

Ain't gonna happen buckwheat.

Gunbroker could very easily just send a security code to your phone for verification just like Verizon does when you log in and boom ur done.

Sending personal info over the internet is just too risky.

IMO Gunbroker has gone way downhill with customer service since then anyway, so screw em. I don't need em.

The older I get the less I really need in the way of firearms, but of course there is plenty I'd like to have too.

Not a thing on this planet I have to have or need at this time in life.

I'd trade my entire collection for good health and another 20 years though.

Cheers,

R.L.

  • 2 weeks later...

RYO,

My latest GunsInternational buying experience UPDATE.

Everything went very well with the CZ 527 purchase.

The seller is a really super guy from Texas.

I can't say enough good about Charlie Shelton out of Beaumont, Texas.

He's a gentleman and scholar in every sense of the word.

Communication was outstanding.

He shipped the rifle in a hard case and sent a small rifle related gift in addition to the rifle as well !!

Who does that today?

Hell... sometimes ur lucky just to get what you paid for!

Gonna try to make a dent in the Maine coyote population real soon.

Cheers,

R.L.

I definitely feel better than last winter. Most days anyway.

Feeling like crap right now.

I'm 4 months past my drop dead date for my treatment.

I still have to go for IV treatments every 3 months for the rest of my life.

Unfortunately Medicare will not cover me until July 2022 now, because of bad info we got from Medicare.gov.

COBRA is not considered  legitimate health care coverage, according to Medicare, even though we paid $30K over 14 months and had multiple procedures.

As a result I must wait till then for Medicare coverage.

Our COBRA health care plan ran out in February. No private plan would cover me interim due to pre-existing conditions.

My procedure is $10K each,time.

I go 2x , 1 week apart.

$iK for a full panel blood test each time.

Once before, once after treatment= an additional $2K.

Struggling to make it to July.

Otherwise life is great.

Cheers,

R.L.
