TGW
Had a AK-47 receiver crack (post sample). Gentleman who built it for me took it back and built a AMD65 in return. Problem is the AMD65 does not feed properly. Stripping a round out of the mag, it seems to be at to steep of an angle and not going into battery. I have to hit the charging handle with my palm to get the round into battery. Mostly single rounds sometime 2-3 round burst at a time. Looking for a smith to send this to and get this problem resolved. Thanks TGW
polytech86
Mario at Piece of History Firearms or Mark Graham/ARS come to mind as capable of this work.
TGW
After some investigation, it seems the bolt face is rotating when stripping a round out of the mag and not clearing the guide rail. This is where rail was removed to allow for the auto sear. See pics.
Navgunner
Try Mike Friend at The Firing Line. He has done some brilliant work for me. 918-666-2788
eMGunslinger
Yep whoever built that postie did a piss poor job and cut the rail out, had many over the years built by hacks who did this. Not a really hard fix
TGW
Good to hear. Thanks for all the help. That's what I was thinking as well. All other ak's I had, had the slot cut in the rail. Not a half inch of rain cut out. I'll send it off,vas currently it's a paper weight.
Delta-10
Yep, you need to bridge that gap. My Valmet m78 came that way. I had the slot for the sear bridged and no more problems after that. Don Quinell did the work. Edited April 20, 2022 by Delta-
