Bayrain
Recently I discovered the Czech VZ52 exists and noticed how similar it is to the Russian SVT 40 and got to thinking. How easy would it be to re chamber the rifle in a different caliber? Just the barrel, or a bolt as well, what rounds could it possibly take. Can it take SVT 40 parts, such as the stock or something to replace that god awful bayonet set up? What are it's flaws and cons? Any pros? Buddy H
no … the two Rifles are COMPLETELY different designs …… there are No similarities between the two designs I have owned both ….. some attempts have been made to change the 7.62x45 chamber to 7.62x39 with usually unfavorable results….. don’t like the folding bayonet …. Remove it . don’t like the caliber …. Buy a Vz 52/57 ( 7.62x39 )
Bayrain
Ah they didn't think they made it in 7.62x39. The rear piece/dust cover and bolt looked very close to the SVT I'm very much a budget project kind of guy, so I was hoping to find some wannabe SVT40 without the SVT40 cost. Might just go for a SKS with a cheesegrater handguard and 20 round smooth mags or something.
