What are the chances of finding a transferable Ruger AC556 receiver?

I really can't think of a situation where one might become available, but wanted to throw it out here for some input.

Thank you,

There are lots out there.  Just buy a complete gun and strip the parts.  You could get a lot for that alone

Complete gun = $12k+
Stripped parts = $1k
I'm not looking for an $11k receiver.

So what is your target price?

You're not paying $11k for the receiver- you're paying $11k for the piece of paper that says you can transfer it and own it.  If that wasn't the case you could buy a brand-new one for $1200-$1300.

In answer your PM; "No, I do not know where one is."  Without knowing a target price, it's not worth my time to search for one.

The only thing I can add is that ruger used to replace receivers with with stockpile they had for warranty work up until the late 90s or early 2000s until they ran out. If they didn't stupidly destroy them, they may have a supply of repairable receivers
