Bwanalewis
My brother is going to be getting his stamp back for his first MG. He has two residences (Georgia and Alabama) with Georgia being his permanent. What is the process of moving the MG back and forth?
mattnh
There are some exceptions (eg he has a c&r FFL and the mg is c&r) but he prob needs an approved ATF 5320.20 https://www.atf.gov/firearms/docs/form/application-transport-interstate-or-temporarily-export-certain-nfa-firearms-atf
mattnh
BTW, Needs a new one every year as they are only approved for 1yr max duration (from/to date)
coward
Have to file one every time, technically, you don't need to wait for approval IIRC though.
gftiv
BATF will approve for one year. Fill out one of the forms suggested above. Leave the travel dates and signature blank. Make several copies. Every Jan 1 fill in the dates and signature and send to BATF. BATF wants an original signature. I use blue ink to show that it is original. Real easy after the first time. Your Year can start at any time.
