Florida Boy
I'm looking at a milled Palmetto Armory RR that was made by Schuetzen Gun Works (pre Olympic Arms) for Palmetto Armory and converted on a Form 1 way back when. I "hear" that the aluminum bar stock used for these is "soft" and may not hold up well,i.e; egged pin holes. The price is very attractive but.. the soft material thing has me a bit worried - can anyone confirm what grade aluminum was used? Pictured is a similar unconverted lower. johnsonlmg41
I wouldn't worry a bit. In the end if any of them are used that heavy the pin holes will eventually be "bushed" out with a steel sleeve, more than doubling the surface area. We've done this with the stupid large pin colts to make them take standard trigger parts. I'd be more concerned about the lack of a sear hole? How was the conversion done?
