Bwanalewis
I am considering an FN FNC. So there is a Sear and RR versions. Wanted to get opinions on the guns, as well as thoughts on the versions. Thanks in advance. CL
guntrustlawyer
I bought a semi folder and sent it to s & h in OK to have it converted with one of curtiss' sears. I loved the gun and even bought a second full stock semi. The problems began when I had a custom suppressor made for the gun. Sound wise it worked great but I was never able to fix the blowback problem. Every burst left me choaking with smoke surrounding my head and my eyes tearing. I sold both guns and bought an m16a1. I am very glad I did. I recall that with 55 grn ammo I had problems with "keyholing." AGG
Personally, the FNC is not the best choice for FA--- parts are scarce and expensive. But I would go the registered sear route, for ease of transferring among hosts and converting back to SA. Tony
Rooster2412
AGG said it best!!! Parts are extremely scarce for the FNC.. I bought a RR side folder in mint condition from Basil St. Clair back in the late 90's, shot it a couple times & stuck it back in the temp controlled cave. In hindsight I wouldn't have bought it but it was too cheap to pass in the condition it was in. Their are better options today, if it breaks only person that could help you is a machinest.
