A sharp-eyed, AR-10 expert named Dan, emailed me and said that this gun had the wrong bolt in it.  Using the information he provided to me, I determined that he was correct. Therefore, this gun is no longer for sale until I get the correct bolt for it and perform the necessary function checks.

This gun is a Portuguese AR-10 parts kit, sold by Peter Wilke in Canada, with a receiver made by yours truly. I traveled to Swastika Lake, Ontario in 1992 to see the big fellow and buy a kit, and ended up with a lot of new parts because the old parts he was offering were in pretty bad shape. Got the new Wilke wood, a new barrel, new ejection port cover, and nice short handguard metal. Have a friend who has both full-auto and semi-auto AR-10's, so I borrowed the semi-auto one, and set about making a lower receiver. It is made from 7075 T651 bar stock, and is coated with Brownell's Gun Kote, a moly-disulfide bake-on coating from the early 90's. Now as you will notice, I took some liberties with the external design of the receiver. The original and other after-market ones were very plain, so I decided to add some of the features found on my M16 to make it more attractive, and unique. And unique it is, not another in the world like it. The gun shoots well, but I don't believe I have put more than 20 rounds through it since I made it.

Comes with 15 original magazines, mag loader, blank firing attachment, some left over parts, and the original instruction booklet.

Priced at $5500 shipped and insured to your FFL.

If you google "original AR-10", a video for Forgotten Weapons comes up and he uses a Rock Island Auction gun like mine to discuss the AR-10.AR-10-1.JPG

Hello, I have interest, so could you send a close up photo of  the serial number area and selector, and and have you zeroed it, and any other information I might you might have. Thanks, Leonard  Leonard144@verizon.net   410-591-3799

According to my expert, I have the wrong bolt for the Portuguese variation. Apparently they were having some bolt failures with the Sudanese version, and beefed them up to prevent the problem. He sent me a photo, that explains it very well, which I have attached. The lugs were the same length, so headspace wasn't a problem, but using the old bolt with the new barrel extension wasn't a good idea as the lugs were even more cantilevered. Luckily, I didn't shoot more than a few rounds, so no damage was done. Thank goodness for his sharp eye, and willingness to intervene.
