Form 3 eForm is great!

I finally got around to sign up for the eForm system after tending to another business for the last couple of years and boy am I pleased with how it works!  For all of the past (and I'm sure current) gripes about how transfers are processed, this system is nothing short of great.  Two Form 3 transfers (different times) were submitted in the evening and both were approved the next day.  One Form 3 took longer...it came back approved in 2 days.  Way to go ATF!

No. Efile is only for dealers. Most of my dealer to dealer transfers are approved the same day through efile.

There is no reason this cant be done for form 4s. They just dont want to. They want to discourage people from buying class 3 items by taking as long as possible so people say forget it.

WOOPS , something is messed up in this thread and it's NOT the ATF. yes its a bureaucracy and we all know the plural form SUCK's as well as the singular form. and I full well agree too many jobs have no performance standards . since the agency became part of the JUSTICE DEPT , the mainstream attitude has reversed itself and few members of the Geheime Feldspolizi  remain . there is no concerted effort to deny or prolong any transfers in evidence nor has there ever been. COMPLACENTY ? yes, very abundant and almost brandished as a badge of honor as it is at all "must use" agencies   E-FILES are possible because all the licensee's are examined every year , records confirmed and any faults corrected as early as possible without multiple transfers using bad info.   both sides of the fence are responsible for all the incorrect info on form 4's . fixing that was what started the major delays , but the MAIN delay was due to the regulation changes in house at the FBI following passage of the homeland security act. the recent agency rulings clearly show support for our side with the new forms and electronic data exchange showing a major improvement and transfers moving like they did in the 50's and 60's
