Origin was likely a battle field war trophy bring back (duffle bag gun) registered with NFA during the ATF Amnesty in November of 1968. $17,500 Components serial numbers: top of rear receiver cap #2238, front sight #38, barrel #238, front side of receiver #238, and rear sight #238. Rear receiver cap has two numbers on it. The component serial number of #2238 but also has the registered serial number #2293 on the side of the same rear cap. This firearm is a good example of the battle field German weapon referred to as a Schmeisser by the Allies. Firearm is ready to transfer on a e-form 3 to a class III dealer.
