mike todd
OK, I DONT BELIEVE THE MAN ASKED ANY OF THAT! WASTED ENERGY. JOLAGUE, there are 2 different types of front straps and YES as matter of fact almost ALL powder springs MAC-10's came with a strap attachment behind a step on the barrel the held a nylon strap! all my early guns have OD green straps. so for ease of communication, lets call that "type 1" after the auction RPB cut slot in the receiver that used a "snap in" bent spring metal hook , again most I have seen were green. lets call that "type 2" you can buy type "1" at FTFINDUSTRIES in black only . short of a miracle, you will need to make a type 2 and its not that hard. remember that extra swivel /hook on Garand and M-14 slings that's so noisy? work one of those over to fit and run to a canvas shop and have them sew you up a strap, color your choice but I would take the material with you , they may not have what you like. NOW FOR THE RECORD! when GORDON built the first prototypes many of them had the strap added, because of a near catastrophic event I believe involving a female shooter if I remember correctly . I remember several of the early hard worked DEMO guns had straps the had suffered a bullet impact at Powder Springs later on many guns did not have the strap but I never looked at one without the ATTACHMENT behind the barrel. MANY MAN STILL SPEAK WITH FORKED TONGUE I GUESS? Edited March 31, 2019 by mike todd typo correction
