Posted 15 Apr 2018 (edited) Initially fielded in early 1945 against the Germans, the SKS was not adopted officially by the Soviet Army till 1949 and was produced by the Tula Armory until 1955. The quality of the early Soviet carbines was quite high as compared to some later manufacturers. I bought TWO of the 1952 Russian 7.62 X 39 SKS Rifles which have Laminated Stocks, Bayonets and both have all Matching Numbers which were imported by Century International Arms Inc. in 1993. Both came covered with light coat of cosmoline in PRISTINE condition. Both are unfired and rare to find in this condition and these are the last two Russian SKS I own. $849 each shipped. REDUCED $799 each shipped. Edited 22 Apr 2018 by Rodney's Distributors Groves, Texas, United States
