I bought this as a Vietnam bringback item, person I bought it from was a huge Type 56 collector. Looks legit to me. This particular FSB does not have a rivet to hold the bayonet, it is a small threaded screw instead. Most of the finish is gone but has a nice even patina, couple areas of surface rust and light pitting at top of the sight housing. Would be perfect for a battlefield pickup look which was what I was going to do originally.
Comes with the front sight post but no plunger/spring for muzzle device. Overall its in nice used condition and functions perfectly.
