  1. 60mm Mortar Cup classification

BLUF: I need a document with ATF markings stating that a 60mm mortar cup is a Title 1 firearm. I bought a 60mm mortar cup from a guy off gunbroker who marketed it as a Title 1 firearm that can be transferred over a 4473. The guy asked to see my Form 1 for my 60mm mortar DD before he would ship it. This is just the unbarrelled receiver and no barrel accompanies it. He then sends the cup with a copy of my Form 1 to my local FFL. They cannot process NFA firearms and panicked when they saw the Form 1. They will not transfer it to me unless they see official ATF guidance or documentation as to the classification of the cup. Does anyone have official ATF paperwork or documents that explicitly state the classification of a 60mm mortar cup with no barrel attached?
  2. WTB 60mm ammo or tail fins

I have a brand new 60mm mortar, but I am lacking ammunition to toss down the tube. I am looking for steel ammo or tailfins to make my own ammo with.
  3. First time MG recommendations

Thanks for all the replies! I actually decided on a FNC back in January, and I'm in the middle of waiting for papers to clear. And yes, I already am in the search for number 2.
  4. First time MG recommendations

I see that M2 Carbines are also cheap and have a historical aspect to them. How do they rate as an entry level gun?
  5. First time MG recommendations

Thanks! I will look into the M10 and M11s more. Any guns that I should steer clear from?
  6. First time MG recommendations

I'm looking to buy a machine gun for the first time but I don't know the pros and cons of most of my options. I have a price cap of $10,000, so what all do you recommend for a first timer? I'm looking for something that I can shoot up and have the parts and pieces to repair it with should they break.
