  1. ATROX < GREAT REPLY ! it will mike my coming day a tad easier to deal with and made me chuckle in agreement.  I DETEST, " I think" and "my buddy did" answers in general cuz all they do is occupy space.  actual fact, I erased my post twice , AFTER I had changed it 2 other times in an honest attempt to help with the question.  it may seem facetious but if I can make ANY SENSE at all, I will not let any inquiry go unanswered  here at STURM ! I want this venue to remain an asset to the community and gain the largest following possible. HELL if pics were easier, I would post treasures for sale that I have no interest in parting with just to create more interest. all my stuff is on the other side of the ranch or I would check and confirm positively so I must rely on my worn out head. BACK TO THE ORIGINAL QUESTION , FEW WILL FIT, IF ANY  , they are two totally different designs. while both bolts can be used in the gun, there is enough difference that BOLT and Barrel extension must be the same model.

  3. youtube red flag laws happening in va>   ok went there and watched the recording. A SAD THING THE GENT WAS PAID A VISIT FOR HIS ACTIONS AT THE CAPITOL INDEED. however , the man recording  displayed an attitude and disposition proving he is a pure asshole. he was upset about the visit but his actions are a perfect example why many refuse to support our rights and the 2nd amendment in general. HE was never visible , but claims advanced age and bad health thank goodness, were he otherwise ,ANY reasonable human being would and should be afraid of a younger healthier person that treats calm folks official or not like he did the other two in the video. not once did he calmly ask a question then allow a complete answer during the recording and the primary official was very polite as he tried to defuse the situation.  I found the whole thing embarrassing  and it was all I could do to run it until the end. RED FLAG SUCK'S GOV of VA SUCKS ! I get ALL that but that guy recording needs to hide his head , LISTEN AND LEARN before he speaks again!

  4. you sure it was converted ? the govt bought tons of all shotguns with normal barrels . they were used in training for AIRIAL GUNNERY  and actually available for hunting use by base members on the larger bases.  normal inspection marks  and acceptance stamps could be and often were present . check the front half for matching serial numbers to the receiver and that will tell all.  no way is the recoil pad original but the rest could be.  cheers mike

  5. tony, this past year several have been offered anywhere between $13k up to $18k. as always its the details that set the real value C+R?  SIGHTS? FIRE CONTROL?  lots of wing guns out there and the parts for ground use almost impossible. a new DLO package COMPLETE on a 17 mount with a linker sold pretty fast at $17k nothing else actually moving I have seen.

  6. CHARLIE I also responded and we advised very close values so that was a GOOD THING. he is a great guy and not greedy. parts landed and exactly as pic'd also packed very well. NO I WAS NOT PISSED!  sold a NOS set of spades in 2006 for $2k and wish I still had them. now I can look for another gun!

  7. a post from KJS TACTICAL ARMS recently offered barrels and "tons of m-60parts" left a tele number . wont answer calls respond to emails or pers messages. I know some folks get lost around CREEK TIME but several folks are asking me about them and I get no response at all either.  anyone do anything or know these guys?

  8. you might speak with ALEX SITMAN at masterclassstocks.com and see what he has to say. they are a first rate duplicating shop and speak true. I would think they could get it better than 90% inletted .  if the machine wont hold anything that small, they could add a "dummy" section to it and then just saw it off or something in that order. anything is worth a try to preserve this stuff and it certainly enjoys getting used rather than sitting on a shelf.  GOOD LUCK!

  9. don't get too discouraged, you got the info you asked for. ON THE POSITIVE SIDE, just after spring of 2019, many transfers were reported clearing in less than 4 months, including several of mine.  its a sad fact but if you are stuck with a "do nothing examiner" it wont get any better. HOWEVER I know of 2 that were approved and completed in 7 WEEKS during Sept and Oct 2019. just this week my dealer submitted a 5 piece batch transfer to me on form 4's and they used the new electronic information transfer for the fingerprints and other information , not sure how all that works or more details but that is said to REALLY SPEED THINGS UP so I will keep ya posted. it looks like I might be around long enough to enjoy that FN-240 b-4 I take the long walk, GOD WILLING!  HOORAH!

  10. X 50plt.YES ITS TRUE ! I like all of us actually DO have a BOSS. thank HIM that I have yet to see him in person PLEASE!  I can assure you its NOT MORGAN FREEMAN so you need not worry about the smell.

  11. ROBERT, when you really dig down in to it , I don't believe ATF has changed the official position. just the usual double speak. this all really started WAY back in 1962/63 wjth GENE STONER while he was at FAIRCHILD and came to a head when they finalized the AR-18. no one could make up their minf and some uppers got numbered  then some lowers.  cant blame them actually , something had to be laid down in hard print. all the recent fooferall started because they chose not to charge that joker with all the violations announced at first. actually a smart move when you see all the facts he was all over the wrong side of the law in many directions. how you FEELING? making any progress with the heavy stuff?  over here we have been fighting the danged CEDAR TREE POLLEN. after the sinus's do the damage most end up with a major raspatory infection and possible hospital stay . I have not put pants on for 8-9 days and just lay around wishing my machines were here.

  12. that figure sounds bad at first but really its the same as replacing the stock on any good double gun. LOTS of bedding area and lots of tedious hours to get it right. I personally would not put any faith in any cad cam program for much more than the "rough out" it would still need to be precisely fitted to avoid future cracks. have you tried any contact with the various "stock duplicators" in the trade? maybe they can come up with something close that could then be "hand fitted"? a sad fact with any wood work on double barrels those long tangs cause weak stocks.

  13. SAD FACT , WE OLD DINOSAUR'S don't give good camera sorry to say . the vault is on the other side of the ranch from where I live and I wont be able to go there until at least Monday pm. too much rain and I don't want to mess up the road!  I will attempt some pics then if it helps. I can assure you if the mags are indeed keystone , the extra gap and weak springs wont feed the ammo properly ! I thought they were LONG GONE and out of the picture? one day was too long. the ONLY after market mags I know of that work are the Christy 30's . I don't use them . for some reason, all my life I have never been able to pass an original 20 rnd that's on a table and have plenty. not looking to sell them , but would help you out with one to prove your action with if need be, just let me know. also, I just had a thought that might be an easier solution . let me play with this a bit and see what happens.

  14.   I claim absolutely no expertise on the COLT THOMPSONS and variations , but have personally examined well over 250 examples in hand over the years I HAVE TRIED TO FOLLOW THIS THREAD AND JUST SEE WHERE IT GO'S BUT NOW I NEED TO KNOW, where the possibility of NICARAGUA USE enters its history?  of the more than 150 COLTS we ran thru the books ONLY one example had that provenance and it was not marked "NAVY" it was stamped 8 over 1 and then A1 followed. at the time many doubted its provenance or if there was even any known example in private hands from that small lot the marines carried over there. when GORDON was a guest and checking the inventory, it was part of the group he never touched b-4 he was asked to "leave" and all those never made his book. the term "SALES SAMPLE" as applied in the AUTO ORDNANCE LOGS and the FEDERAL LAB BOOKS from the  period we are concerned with here, does NOT mean the same thing as the term is considered by ATF or its POSITION in the registry. in the 30'S many guns were logged out at price levels that would have raised a flag at the end of the year. this was justified and considered temporary by the term "sales sample" allowing a out of channel destination for demo purposes only.

  15. when many folks try to trouble shoot a problem they usually go straight to the suspected culprit and with the design of the REISING 50/55 a thorough cleaning often corrects most problems. many of the detent springs among others gave borderline performance when new, now add in a gummy pivot or gummed up recess to enhance it and you find the answer. the previously mentioned selector fault is not uncommon but a slow disconnector for the same reason is more likely to be at fault. weak return springs usually make up for any "slower " ammo you will encounter, but if equipped with new WOLF springs you will notice it instantly. I have NEVER SEEN OR HAD A REISING MOD 50/55 that would not run flawlessly if properly cleaned / good springs and magazines. its one of my favorite shooters and wont let you down. almost ALWAYS its just plain old gummed up lube that causes the problem.

  16. bottom barrel IS A Mk II BREN brl. if not stamped 7.92 any where its .303 which is most likely. without the handle is exactly the way they were packed in the crate from LITHGOW and others.  I would agree its most likely the top is a Rhodie fal brl it is in the "1964" pattern they liked so well and that grenade sight adjuster was a common loose part added at will by many agencies.

  17. JUST A THOUGHT, I HAVE done a lot of caliber conversions to countless designs. once the feed is worked out which is just a mechanical hurdle, the MAIN challenge is the pressure curve and port size. in the past the way I handled port sizes was to drill and tap the brl port then you can drill various size's in the following plugs and work your way down to the right level. not that I would KEEP that in the final design, it is safe enough and allows a quick adjustment. gas is NOT always the culprit its that danged curve that will hang you up. when I went to .410 shotgun I learned the most about that as it does not EXIST! many designs required a expansion area in the chamber much like COLT used for the 1911 .22 conversion to start the initial unlocking . the brl machine is still waiting for something so lets get moving !

  18.   DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT CUTTING YOUR RECEIVER AS SOME HAVE DONE OVER THE YEARS.  ALL YOU NEED DO IS FIND A GOOD WW II DRUM, BRIDGEPORT WOULD BE FIRST CHOICE. ON THE BOTTOM OF THE REAR DRIP COVER, IS A RAISED RIB THAT ENGAGES A GROOVE THAT SHOULD BE CUT IN THE GUN.  GENTLY KNOCK THAT RIB FLAT AND YOUR GOOD TO GO. MAKE SURE YOU GO ONLY FAR ENOUGH THAT IT STILL HAS A TIGHT FIT.  THIS WILL BE HARD ON YOUR MAG CATCH SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SOME SPARES,  HOLDING THE DRUM AS YOU FIRE WILL HELP.  IT WILL TAKE A DECENT BODY HAMMER AND A SOLID FLAT BODY DOLLY TO KEEP THE BLOWS FOCUSED WHERE NEEDED. IT MIGHT BE WORTH PRACTICING ON ONE OF THE MANY BROKEN REPO DRUMS OUT THERE. THEY HAVE NO VALUE OVER DISPLAY.  I MAY HAVE ONE OR 2 AROUND IF YOU CANT FIND ANY.  CHEERS MIKE

  19. MINE GOT! I JUST LEARNED I HAVE BEEN BANNED " FOREVER" FROM 1919 A4 .COM. actually I quit that cheese ball group of ass wipes 20+ years ago. the ONLY reason I went back was an attempt to help my bro RL figure out just why a member failed to pay for a large lot of parts. come to find out he was being cheated to the tune of more than $5kby some closet member using the handle "LUCKY13".he has been around a LONG TIME and got himself in "trouble" mainly by trusting other's that forced him  into a corner.  over the years, I have learned that its very easy for "OTHERS" to put you in a position that endangers your reputation and I NEVER judge using that criteria!  HOW THEY TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM IS ALL THAT COUNTS. and in this case HE SUCKS!

  20. JESUS, I had ignored that site for years and recently made an attempt to locate someone well liked there that refused to answer any of my emails etc. I was instantly buried by SEVERAL folks that JUST DONT LIKE ME OF FOLKS THAT THINK LIKE ME? all I did was ask a simple question, which he failed to answer but plenty others did.  It just shows that the public in general has a very short memory.
