  2. I have several hard to find original FN- cal mags if interested. sold my gun 1980 and buyer could not afford all the mags. I believe there is 3- 20's and one 30 . will sell as all only. cheers mike
  3. YEP I AM entitled to my opinion, at least until November. AT the same time, I DO respect YOUR right to express your opinion. MY " SUB STANDARD" statement only applied to the VALUE! incorrect information when peddled long enough tends to be accepted as correct. Those of us that were fortunate to be present before rebuilds and the like appeared must share the facts just to keep the record straight. You did a very good job of describing the build of your example as you understood it. The Shelby statement was the hangup is all. I too have an additional reweld M-60 that my guests use to spray KIA'S and the like. we don't wax them in the normal sense and like your's it runs flawless. it actually cost me 3 times more than my Maremont ( $8.5k ) and was a good buy at the time. The BEST part? someone had the foresight to add more transferables to the registry. GOOD LUCK WITH THE SALE!
  4. SADLY YES IT IS LESS.! its nothing more than a rebuilt Shelby and worth 1/2 an original. just check the barret Jackson and mecham auctions. in fact a "reconstruct " cant even be presented at many auction venue's. "restored" a completely different story than a rebuilt wreck. TO ATTEMPT TO PRESENT a "remanufactured example as being equal to my original maremont is so absurd it hardly justified a response!! ANYTHING TRANSFERABLE has a legitimate place, but like the "untouchables in india" its place is preordained and not possible to change. Watching these attempts to make substandard examples acceptable keeps things exciting and interesting when 95% of the offerings are sales samples. when it takes two paragraphs of "reasoning and explanation" to justify an example, that say's it ALL
  5. MATT I live in Boerne and have several lanchester mags. how many do you want and whats the market? I'm not greedy it needs to be fair for both of us. let me know what your thinking and I will go from there. cheers mike
  6. MATTHEW, Do you shoot or plan to shoot your K43? I have 1 or 2 original nazi mags in great condition and maybe one Norwegian original. the deal is they are with my complete G41 milled top cover/ carrier assembly I used to shoot mine. before the guns got so danged expensive, we used to shoot them all day as it was the only semi 8mm at the time and ammo was about the same as .22 rimfire in quantity. we altered the prewar german" magazine 25 rounds" to fit and turned them into hoses. in the process making a couple select fire. after I blew the 3rd or 4th safety lever out and broke the rear of receivers, I discovered the 41 parts would fit right on/ NO alterations! several of my group followed suit and we NEVER broke another gun. it also made them almost 100% reliable. For 30+ years I bought every top end I could find and promoted this conversion I gave my last 2 guns to a young man that will never shoot them and have this "kit" left over. any interest? if so will forward pics and price, I would like it all to go same time. cheers mike
  7. UBU, DONT LAUGH AT ME! but sarco had a great deal on original early leather and ersatz material mags for the smaller euro autos like your list. the deal was for groups NOT singles and they are mixed some post war. lots were from 10 to 100 if I remember correctly and the price got to trash levels. I bought a test lot of 5 then followed with 2 10 lots when the add first hit about 2 yrs ago. fairly recent they had a full page add for those deals in FIREARMS NEWS . you might send dave an email and see what happens? good luck and cheers mike
  8. SV, Lee tool had an add for quantity lots of soumi drums, maybe you can do a deal with him. I have 2 large crates of drums and 2 large crates of coffins. I wont sell until the subguns are gone however. so its too early for me. give him a try GREAT FOLKS! cheers mike
  9. ANDY, what exactly do you want? orig buffer? used? new. I have several, some new , some used. only a couple have the orig buffer let me know what, then I will start digging cheers mike
  10. CRIS, Been hoarding Johnson stuff 45 years. I have several MINT 30/06 Johnson barrels. the problem is the value?? I have been offered $1000. and couldn't part with any. DO YOU STILL HAVE THE 7x57 barrel? maybe both of us could be happy. if so, lets talk cheers mike
  11. Leonard, my first boyes conversion to U.S .50 cal was in 1961. since then I have done more than 25 and still own 3. the receiver opening will not accept a .50 brn flat out of a mag, its too short. while one could add to the length of the mag, the round would need to come at an extreme angle out of it, as the opening is just too danged short. I have tried many options like making 2 mags out of 3 and so forth. the hurdle of the receiver opening always killing it. the most promise was cutting the feed lips off of a barrett mag and attaching a boyes bottom. I then machined a follower that presented the rnd at the proper angle to feed. the spring killed that . I tried flat leaf, flat leaf and coil combination and a series of 4 coils. no luck . to compensate , when I close the bolt and chamber a round, I lay another round on top of the extractor. when ejecting the fired round the new round feeds perfect, while working the bolt, I grab another round to place on the extractor. it actually works quite well , but my guns are on 1917 tripods and are fairly stable. even my lite weight with 20"barrel . the other option is custom handloads with a shorter OAL , I do a bit of that also if you are EVER successful in your quest, and don't inform me, A POX ON YOU ! cheers mike
  12. ron email sent with a few things that have been happening you might find helpful. GOOD LUCK ! MIKE
  13. things have calmed down a bunch in the san Antonio area. you can get all the 500 rnd bricks you want for $30 now. mini mags are .08 a rnd it was bad for a while one chap looked for 50 rnds 2 yrs NO LUCK and I gave him 2 boxes to stop his tears. I don't think the price will ever drop below these levels again. after she gets in office we wont be able to shoot anymore anyway. if we do it will be center fire and mission hot
  14. BUDDY HIT THE BELL AGAIN! yes it French and beware some lots were indeed corrosive. cheers mike
  15. HOWDY ! I am intexas between boerne and kendalia. I manage a large collection and we are considering moving a few examples we have a GUN SOUTH FNC folder with a fleming sear that is mint. I believe the barrel is 14" but need to confirm. in addition there is a MINT FNC fixed stock semi auto rifle a private purchase by a vet in a PX and brought home so NO IMPORT MARKS (VERY RARE) we would only sell the pair for $18k. if you are interested let me know cheers mike todd
  16. STEVEN, the sealed can has a much greater value than opened due to the many collectors of such. I have seen the 520 rnd cans move at $1500. plus , while loose boxes seem to sit still over .$30. what do you think a 520 rnd can of N/C API will bring? I have one left and 3 520 cans of m25 tracer cheers mike
  17. AGAIN # CHEERS FOR THE NEW FORMAT!! it was long over due. i spent countless hours trying to comply and not step on anyones toes on the old site i made donations while unable to complete any posts. even offered to pay for help getting my postings correct yes the new one is quite different and will take a while to fit but i believe it to be a winner. DAN and others are quick to help and move things around dummys like me do wrong . i have noticed the slow down of the posts, but believe that will change if given time. sadly come the nov cloud we will be very lucky if anything like this will be possible by next summer lets give it a chance . mike
  18. believe it or not but the lanchester is one of the few british machine guns that was offered openly on the world market with out destroying a huge quantity in the process. I personally viewed crates stacked to the ceiling on one of our trips. I believe $23.00 U.S was the number. they were secondary as the german G-1 was the business at hand. everything i touched was NOS and heavy grease. its one of the few subguns i found original examples just as often as tube rebuilds for sale, but that has slowed down the last 5 years. also most offered appear to be almost perfect .
  19. in my qwest for a night vision solution I found an example of the NAIT pvs 4 weapon site that appears new in all respects. anyone out there that has used this before? any thoughts? all info given full attention. thanx mike
  20. VEEZER, YOU GOT IT WRONG!! this was NOT aimed at you! it was my opinion of all the NEGATIVE responses to your perfectly correct offer to sell a registered legit GORGEOUS example of an original war time MG-42. BOB was also correct in his response and attempt to explain what he has encountered. Had I not spent so much getting my old stuff back from the evergreen collection it would have been gone b-4 they had a chance to hit you with all the foofarah we all enjoyed enduring. sorry you got the WRONG impression it was support cheers mike
  21. BOB AGAIN YOUR VAST KNOWLEDGE BREAKS LOOSE! being an active participant at all the recent auctions offering examples from old collections starting 2013 many if not all of the transfers attempted using a current C+R are being traced back to origin by the examiners and a lot are denied ! 5 to me ! 3 of the 5 I know the previous owners and they were approved C+RS at that time but not now. SADLY there is no known way for a buyer to get this confirmed when buying. one saving grace many operating systems are now being recognized as C+R no matter when first registered. I believe all pre 86 mg-42's qualify and I KNOW ALL select fire FAL'S do among others. this went into effect 01/01/16 one might send a request in writing for a ruling. as mentioned I have it for the FAL cheers mike
  22. GREAT ADVICE and what I was looking for. I want a weapon mntd device, then hope to add a viewer after I recover from that.(sigh) it looks like the pvs 14 is the one to look at first. everyone like it.. helmet / head mounts are a real pain for me. never had night vision on one but done enough light mounted up there to know its not for me. thanx for the input you just cant get too much! mike
  23. I am cleaning up the collection I manage here in texas for a collector that is mainly a shooter. this unit I am offering, is obviously one of those retained by the german armed forces after WWI and most likely a WWII vet bringback as it is NAZI PROOFED with the eagle swastika and "K 16" at the rear of the water jacket on top. it also appears to have been part of the post war light machine gun project before the development of the 34 as it has 4 holes in the top cover where the brass id plate would have been attached to id the model change. very little if any of the parts match. the water jacket is in great shape with no major dents and the receiver is turning to an even brown but still a strong finish with NO PITTS or bare spots. wood is good with no cracks but a few SMALL dents there is no water elbow. it has the complete original flash/ hider / booster ass and the standard bipod. in addition to the gun sale will include 2 original drums 2 original belts 1 extra complete choice lock 1 extra feed block (has no lever) offered at $9500.00 on form 4 in texas buyer pays all shipping and transfer fees this unit should make a great shooter with a seldom seen opportunity to own the provenance established by the additional proofs. if ever an example presented the wish it could speak syndrome this one has to be near the top of the list. had you been present during WWII and wanted to bring something home , not likely would it have been the 08/15 with all the MG-42's and MP-40's available in my 50 years involved with the industry in no small way , its the first example I have seen in person other than one in the pattern room in England . condition overall is average for an 08/15 the top cover has the 4 holes mentioned and is an obvious refinish due to faults under the blue. refinish would have been a normal part of the various conversions attempted during the light machine gun development period and presents no concern at this point due to that. it is not known when the plate was removed or by who but it certainly fits the remarking of the jacket etc. I still have not been able to post any pics on this site, but can email per request. I took several shots of the waffenampts but they come out a bit fuzzy no matter the setting. they are quite clear under magnification. as is proper all the markings and proofs done at manufacture time are still present and unaltered. a great chance to get a decent shooter with some extra history THANX FOR LOOKING MIKE PS would consider a S&W 76 in trade still looking for a trans AUG
