  1. Any C&R or Trans M73s out there?

one used to show up at the marana shoots time to time. it always had a bunch standing around with hammers at the ready like electricians at a downed telephone pole I believe it was ralph wongs? so could have been anything
  2. Is there a change in USPS policy on shipping NFA?

every USPS office I ever tried ( AZ ) required a current ffl on file and a picture ID for any follow ups? just before I moved to texas ALL the UPS stores I tried in GILBERT,AZ refused all ammo and firearms claiming ONLY the distribution center was approved. things went ok there as long as the resident DYKE was out to lunch or otherwise occupied. ANOTHER GOOD REASON TO FLEE HOME TO TEXAS
  3. We would like to do a run of the barrel wrench for the Portive and Hotchkiss guns, but need an example or drawings and a pic to proceed. I would gladly pay for the time to do pics etc. we have made others for different weapons and they were very well accepted. we strive for accurate, quality results and enjoy the work. there are a lot of weapons out there and to date, I have only found one example that was in an estate controlled by folks with NO interest in guns or collectors . cheers mike
  4. WTK: Repro Japanese Type 92 HMG Wrench?

gun drill equip is second to none in the nation!! can drill a .020 hole at 12ft+ !! those machines are NEVER idle! all most all the major manf. and aerospace folks sub contract work at the shop. including NASA. the barrel machines came out of the springfield armory and are pic'd with JOHN GARAND in many publications. they sat for years and we finally managed to do an addition for them, and get them running. the original plan was for me to run that part of the shop when my illness struck. since then only toy projects were done until recently. they are now taking orders and processing a few. the guys are VERY FLEXABLE and customer friendly. they also have created quite a few unique high performance cyl heads and manifolds for the racing industry.
  5. for years we shot at the same location in AZ (blm land) with no problems. ALLWAYS cleaned up all our refuse and brass, even policed the dirt disturbance at times. finally approached while shooting by an official that stated we could be cited and responsible for damage to rocks in the cliff face? we did a lot of .50cal. he took pics and our info concerning a truck sized boulder we had pecked at for years with a lot of resulting rubble, stated we would be contacted, but nothing ever came of it. we went back several times and nothing had changed so I assume all was ok. we do the cannons ONLY on our own ranch for obvious reasons.
  6. PUNISHER, yep I experienced the same thing on my last visit to Portland. not sure the name of the place but it was at a very upscale building downtown with a fine sculptured lawn and the main display was a gentleman clad only in shorts down to his knees and he was smeared with feces almost everywhere below the waist.had a needle still in is arm and was mumbling obscene phrases to passerby. we made the mistake of buying a "day transit pass" and most buses in the rear looked worse than a porta potti after a rock concert except there was no indication of any paper in the waste. our visit to Victoria island had the same high light. I don't get to many "inner cities" or back east much thank god , but I hear tales of the same side effect from all the social support venues. its a fact the only people the laws adversely effect are the ones that have something to loose and can pay why should they waste the time?
  7. THIS A WARNING about a person named JACK HOLSEY IN CITRIS HEIGHTS CALIFORNIA. IN HIS EMAIL ITS JC HOLZY. in response to an add on G-brkr showing a russ maxim and mount I asked if he would ell the mount only. we agreed on a price, expensive but I wanted to fill a hole. the pics showed a very early pre WWII maxim wheeled mnt with the legs and highly polished. WELL we all know what to do and even when you play by all the rules and jump through the hoops, YOU CAN STILL GET STUNG! He shipped one of the worst condition WWII Russian mnts I have ever seen, it had been welded, drilled, torched and was beat to heck. also shipped 2 beat up rear legs from a post war Yugo lafette /2 bolts and /2 cobbled spacers that I guess were to somehow be added to it in some fashion. we exchanged several emails before terms were agreed so there was no confusion about what was offered. in all the haste to get it right, I made the serious mistake if NOT MAKING HIM LIST IT WITH A BUY IT NOW OPTION ON SITE. he sent his info and I sent the funds . of course as soon as I opened it I knew what was up and any attempt to contact him would be futile, but I did try and nothing. because he has listed many very hard to find items, others will be in touch . JUST BE CARE FULL.
  8. WTK pistol grip 12 ga. "weapon"

"not a shotgun"? I thought the gca 68 defined anything with a smooth bore a shotgun? in the early eighties I was ordered to destroy a mint new service colt .44 cal smooth bore because it was not registered when I got it. not even the option of removing the barrel . there are several examples out there reg. as AOW. why are all the marbles and H+R shotgun pistols in the registry? yep I read the letter and it state's "not a shotgun" but somehow the term smoothbore is NOT in the letter? SCAREY! not on my wall with out an exemption statement describing ALL elements of the piece concerned. PLEASE BE CAREFULL when attempting to apply the law.
  9. Mg17 Parts kit

I would like to see a couple of the pics showing the feed mech and the breech end of the jacket if possible. there are some parts available and would like to clarify a couple issues. if you could please send them direct to my email . promise not to get in your deal I'm trying to help someone not make a mistake. myoldiron@outlook.com cheers mike todd
  10. .50 SLAP rounds

DONT! they start to open as soon as they clear the bore restriction. there used to be a couple posts of destroyed brakes on the net.
  11. WTK: Repro Japanese Type 92 HMG Wrench?

Glen / HARRY, man you said it the cost would be a killer. I don't recall the exact profile of a brl , we don't have a gun in the collection. the best solution would be to gundrill an old barrel and press in a new core. we did several 308 bren brls with 60 stellite cores in the 70's and they are still going. the only other option would be to remove sections from a damaged worn brl and press them on a new blank. to my knowledge no one makes a blank that fat but we could if need be. L have contacted the shop, and there is machine time available on the drill and rifling equipment, but its limited. available calibers are varied. they are running 6mm and 6.5 mmm at this time. about the wrench's /tools I contacted JOHN KEENE in MAINE and he stated he has an original for sale and another gent has some replica's available . because all ours sold so fast I'm thinking they may not be true to spec but you can check.
  12. WTK pistol grip 12 ga. "weapon"

whoa there!! 16"barrel shotgun? non nfa? NO WAY! no matter how it came! if it was a "LEGAL SHOT PISTOL" it would be "any other weapon" at least and still require a $5.00 transfer. look guy's its pretty easy THERE IS NO WAY TO GET AROUND THE LAW ! in 1995 I ordered a SAR 48 FAL from J+G sales in Prescott,az. filled out my 4473 and when I got it home , found it was a select fire weapon and ready to go FULL AUTO. someone had made a mistake logging it into inventory and it was sold to me retail. they were due for a major problem down the road when it came up. I was still in violation for possessing an unregistered MACHINEGUN! the shop was more than 100 miles away and I sweated every mile getting it back.
  13. WTK: Repro Japanese Type 92 HMG Wrench?

HARRY, we made those at a shop located in phoenix that I haunted more than 40 yrs with hotrod and gun projects. it was always busy but new things were exiting and a challenge. my health forced me to move to texas, but I'm still in contact with them often. we bought a bunch of the barrel machinery out of springfield armory years ago and the focus lately has been getting that running for custom barrels. I will see if any of the old drawings can still be programed in for a run. several have asked and I dropped the ball. stay in touch! cheers mike JOHN KEENE has also asked for more so I guess its time
  14. Rock Island Auction Saco M37

an original m37 was on this site offered under 15k for more than a year. ended up doing time on gunbroker and never sold there either. gun was legit and a legit estate item along with WWII a4 and a buffalo anm2. presentation is a big factor . when they mess up at the first offering the fixes don't appear to work. timing also will effect things
  15. Auctions always amaze me (RIA May Auction)

I always sign up for the entire auction via live telephone and have often had the same questions. after 10 yrs following them and talking to others, I find there is another group of buyers out there that you wont see at knob creek or many gun shows. not sure how or why but the results are not always the same if they offer too many examples of the same thing prices stay down. in most cases the hammer is always more than "street pricing" two yrs ago nice lugers were hammering under 1.7 k that would bring close to 3k on gunbroker. just too many. I bought 12 mint swiss lugers all under 1.3K . the c+r 37's have always been weak at times and many times less than sideplate guns even on this site. due to a bad connection I lost an ORIGINAL exc cond SPANISH WAR COLT GATLIN GUN that closed at 123K next sale a trashy colt exceeded 225k. maybe these guys want to be "under the covers" or something who knows
  16. WTK: Repro Japanese Type 92 HMG Wrench?

we made 25 of the wrenches that were exact duplicates. IE BLAKE MACHINE PHX AZ they sold on GB VERY FAST should have done twice that many. I have been looking for an original portive brl wrench for the next project. any help? cheers mike
  17. WTK: Info on Browning HP Wood Stock

not quite able to read markings , but unlike any originals I have seen. most are marked by company/ Canada a dated and not at the wrist. however atf exemption still applies for ORIGINAL TYPE REPO STOCKS. but must be exact model stock for exact model/era weapon. this is abused quite often so use care.
  18. UPDATE!! I found a 2013 news add . stated he was arrested with 12 unreg machine guns, silencers, meth and tons of child porn. article also stated he had 2 prev arrests for non reg nfa. he is still free??? sacramento atf was advised he is still active . WHAT IS THE STORY? INFORMER? NO ANSWER FROM ANY LAW AGENCY. so much for laws, just ignore them no problem
  19. FNC need help / parts

I own a FNC sear and have it installed in a gun that runs perfect. I shoot it a lot and have purchased several other semi's to back it up. my problem is, all the semi's need the bolt carrier with the trip for the sear. what are folks doing that by sears only? are they getting them welded up? if so who would be the best choice for this? I don't want to send the lower out and could do any adjustments for timing to the altered carriers as needed. as far as I know the only source for original parts would be to sacrifice a dealer sample. after all is said and done I would like to just put any upper I have on the full auto lower. thanks for any info!!! cheers mike
  20. FNC need help / parts

may be correct but thought I had seen some samples years ago. I know the parts are tough and surmised the carrier was welded. however it shows NO sign of it and I know what to look for, so they knew what they were doing. this all makes me very curious where all the other parts came from, like hammer /selector etc. if they are orig full auto parts, then why not carriers? maybe some folders were for NJ polizi , but they were very common at retail. we sold several . actually more folders because the fixed stock were hard to get for some time from distributors. still hope to get someone hooked up that can do some work . thanx for the info !! mike
  21. this guy is using several destinations and diff gunbrkr accounts to stay active. gun broker should kick him off but they don't seem to care. just beware when using th site as they offer NO PROTECTION and couldn't care less AGAIN ITS THE MONEY FOR THEM AND THATS ALL THAT MATTERS
  22. promise's promise's ??? same for me but don't count on it he is just trying to gain time to hit others the guy is an outright flake and should be jailed a PERFECT EXAMPLE of the failures of the net. its really not condusive to our sport in my opinion. but who am I?
  23. CORRECT!!! cal. not important. you can change it around to fit your needs. wish it was mine. good find ! mike
  24. I have been struggling of and on more than 3 years trying to complete a john Inglis high power pistol . I'm down to needing a complete trigger ass, trigger pin sear spring and slide stop. To date, no one has been able to tell me if FN parts will interchange or not and I have not located a source for the original ones. the gun looks brand new with original finish and even has a partial decal. when I got it all the internals were missing and I have managed to gather all but the above . I'm getting desperate now and need all the help I can get. Gunparts corp has nothing . THANX !! MIKE
  25. THANX BUDDY! will do so in the future , but hope there is no need. I don't have much experience in these matters , and it breaks my heart it occurs. for me ITS NOT THE MONEY! after all the excitement of finally locating a TREASURE, the anticipation and wait for transit. then peeling the wrapper to JUNK nothing as described the knowledge that predators have invaded our sport hurts the worst. I posted the mount for sale on G-brkr as junk and put as much info about him the site allows the same time I did this. one of them worked because he contacted me and replied he wanted to make me happy so we will see. at best its going to cost me at least $500 in shipping once I return to cover both ways so I will keep you all informed. cheers mike
