  1. So I had 5 hr's to do nothing but wait for my IV bag to finish at the cancer center yesterday. Watched some 3 stooges shorts for about 3 hr's. I grew up on the 3 stooges Little Rascals. Good stuff imo. I decided to visit the snubguns NFA board (against my better judgement) to see what was for sale and who was selling. WOW, looks like most of the smaller and private sellers you used to see when Tom owned the place have disappeared. Mostly just 2 sellers now and a few misc.people I'm not familiar with. Anyone else notice this or was this just an anomaly for that week? I've not kept up with this place since the sale. I definitely wouldn't visit the GDB since they, whoever these anonymous, ball-less, pecker-woods are, that found it necessary to ban JJ Werner and just about anyone else they didn't like or had a personal issue with. Dumbest thing ever in my opinion. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. That board has absolutely nothing, zero, zip to offer now. Just a bunch of 30 yo soy boys now, that have to check with the few remaining posters how to change a tire, how to change their oil, should I screw my wife's sister... Mostly about academic stuff that most young boys( at least from my time) were taught by their fathers learning to become men during their adolescence. Pretty funny and yet pathetic to read, how many young men have become nothing but a bunch of female dominated nancy boys with machine guns. Pretty sad commentary of the state of "maleness" in America! Werner was a virtual walking encyclopedia of gun knowledge and most especially night vision. If anyone has contact info for JJ please post it. I'd like to get in contact with him again. He would be a real asset for this board. FWIW, R.L.
  2. Guys, I can't say enough good about Stephen Ivey from Project One, LLC. The short story is I dropped my new RTM 50 mount the other day. I've been having the shakes because of my condition, but I really wanted to do something the other day in my shop, so I tried to mount the base/ring combination on a Sako TRG rifle..yea well guess what, I dropped the $800 mount from about 4' onto the concrete floor in my gun room!! Never, ever had something like that happened to me. I was sick, literally.I sent the base back with a letter explaining what happened and that I accepted full responsibility for the damage , and would pay to have it repaired. Within 2 days, Stepehn sent the mount back repaired with new parts, express mail insured...for free. Now I ask, who does this in this day and age? Not too many people I have to say. I was so shocked and appreciative of this kindness. Ivey Shooting products is a fantastic vendor. If you'e into ELDS these guys make products you might like. Thank you Stephen Ivey@ Ivey Shooting Products and also a big thanks to Clay at Project One LLC. R.L.
  3. Well fella's I got some bad health news today unfortunately. Some may remember the story about the attempt on my life in 2009 by poisoning. I've been quietly suffering the aftereffects of that poisoning for 9 years now, but things were stabilized. That all changed with my 3 month evaluation today. Mostly it's white and red cell imbalances in my blood, but one condition triggers another so it becomes a little complicated after a while. Low blood numbers makes you feel pretty tired and sometimes I feel kinda'a bad. Even worse after treatments. Been getting IV treatments for 4 years now at my local cancer center every 3-6 months. They work for a while, but my numbers slowly descend before my next treatment making treatments necessary sooner and sooner. Went for my usual 3 month evaluation today and my numbers were low...very low as a matter of fact. Now my oncologist thinks I'm slowly hemorrhaging inside somewhere, but he's not sure where. His grave concern, is now mine. Have to be evaluated by my G.I. Dr. for a procedure soon to look inside to see where the problem is. This diagnosis caught me a little off guard. Talk about an immediate, unplanned life priority and attitude shift. All I care about now is my wife and my dogs. Everything else seems rather insignificant under the circumstances. If I can offer any of you some advice, it would be take better care of yourself. GO TO YOUR DOCTOR REGULARLY!! Get a checkup, have your blood pressure monitored. Guys, get a prostate exam if you're anywhere near 50. Detection is 99% of a successful cure. Thanks to all of you that have made the sales of my C-3 easier and actually fun. I always knew this time for me was coming, I just didn't know when. My focus right now is enjoying what's left of my time, how ever long that is and trying to make up for lost time appreciating the things I should have appreciated, before all this happened. FWIW, R.L.
  4. Fella's a new day is upon ALL PATRIOTIC Americans. It is a sad and dangerous day. The left comprised of socialists, communists, Antifa anarchists, lesbians, queer males, pedophiles, a myriad of other twisted social misfits and other despicable human aberrations that have united to deprive you of YOUR AMERICA through their liberal representatives in Congress. Your family customs and values, your Christian Judeo religious values, destroyed, aided by the left and facilitated by islamic extremists/ terrorists, and now by demo-ratic liberal congressional representatives. Our American culture, moors and customs are being destroyed one piece at a time. by leftist academia in colleges on a daily basis. Teaching our children their own perverted lifestyles and wacko political persuasions as "normal". It's way past time for everyone that cares about this glorious Republic, to STAND UP AND BE HEARD! This is not a gentleman's game, there is no civility offered by leftist demo-rats, as you may have witnessed during these disgraceful Congressional hearings. This dog and pony show was designed, by demo-rats to interrogate the candidate in the most , unfair ,disgusting and shameful way....all for political gain! The aim is to destroy Judge Kavanaugh, his reputation and his family so he will quit. Thank God he has the moral fiber to stay and fight. We all talk among ourselves and family about the government and all things related we don't like, but talk needs to be replaced by action. It DOES make a difference to send letters, calls and emails to your representatives. I know first hand. I worked for Congress on Capital Hill early on in my career supplying requested research and literature on demand to CRS. Your opinion does count, please get involved if you care. FWIW, R.L.
  5. Lying fxcking, lost on the way to Woodstock, stinking liberal twat!!! Have I mentioned how much I hate liberals , leftists and demo-rats? Lying slimy scum bags, not a worth a bullet to end their miserable lives. A plague to this country. Once this dog and pony show is over, it's then time to put these worthless fxcks that lied and funded this disgusting display on trial, then hopefully prison. Starting with that stinky ass, lesbo-nasty bitch clinton and moving on to schmucko boy schroomer, and feinswine! Rot in hell demoshxts, and to be sure President Trump will help you get there!!! R.L.
  6. Any of these left? Where are they located? R.L.
  7. Hey guys, Dale and Bridgett @Coatings USA are just the kindest and most generous people you'll' find in this business. I went to pick up my McMillian base today. They did this one on the house for me with hopes I'll spread the word about their work. I was just shocked at this act of kindness. Great folks. The coyote tan cerakote finish applied to my base was perfect, no runs, no streaks. super nice work. Try these guys, you're gonna like what they do. FWIW, R.L.
  8. Looking for 1-2, maybe 3 depending on price. Must be mechanically in very good to like new condition, finish can be worn, I'll have em cerakoted anyway. Send me pics of what you have. Can send funds within 24 hr's. ****A notice to all axxhole nigerian, rusky, plus the various and sundry wanna b scammers, don't waste my time. I vet every one I do business with unless I know you.*** Thanks, R.L.
  9. After the wife thoroughly pissed me off the other night, I decided to descend to the gun/reloading room for some decompression time. Yea, I'm sure none of you have had or have this occasional domestic problem, but after doing the marital dance 4 times now, the bliss ain't what it once was...but what is? Might have a little to do with me being just a bit cantankerous. I believe it's a mans God given right to be cranky when necessary after 64. How ya like that feminazi's?? About 1/2 of my entire downstairs is dedicated to everything gun related. about 1K sq ft. packed to the gills with gun stuff. Was even worse with the 30+ machinguns I had before selling them off over the last 2 years. The wife thinks it hoarding, I call it measured and organized pandemonium. If she doesn't touch anything, I know where everything is. Moving my shit in this house is a guaranteed donnybrook. That's a whole new conversation for another day...anywho. Just leave my stuff alone, and everything will be ok!! With over 50 years of collecting, shooting and reloading, I've accumulated a pretty nice library of reloading books along the way. Some date fro the early to late 50's all the way up to the latest 2017 Berger, Speer, Hornady and Lyman books. Yea I shoot the latest stuff, .416 Barrett, .50bmg, .338 Lapua. Tikka's, TRG's and Steyr's in the latest chamberings with S&B, Nightforce scopes. There is still a strong latent attraction for me to the old stuff. John Unertl scopes, barrel block mounting, Strongback sleeves to stiffen actions, fiberglass beded wood stocks....antiquated tech for sure, but memorable tech. Tech from my time. The old books are quite colorful look great on the shelf, but rarely in say the last 15 years have I looked at any of these reloading books. Tonight I figure is a good night to pass some time and read some of this older material. Talk about personal time travel.... the late fifty's was my time. Man this is GREAT! I'm loving this, reading about all of this olde4 stuff brings back so many good memories. Bench rest matches, ground hog shooting in Pa. My first custom .22-250 with a Sako 591 action, Unertl ultra varmint scope with barrel block mounts, Canjar single set trigger. I also remember most of these long gone cartridges....220 Swift, .219 Zipper, .218 Mashburn Bee, .250-3000. I actually owned some of these, with the .220 Swift being my favorite. Like other older people I associate many things I did with the various times of my life. Reloading and guns have been the major focus of my life, for most of my entire life. Reading about these old cartridges brought back so many old and very pleasant memories. I also found some hand written letters, one from a major icon associated with the gun cleaning accessories, John Dewey. Yeps that's right a hand written letter to me from John Dewey. I opened an old Weatherby catalog I've had for decades, catalog # 1 from about 1958, and guess what I found? A hand written letter from Roy Weatherby Sr.!! Yea, it might not be that big a thing for some, but this was better than opening presents at Christmas for me! It takes so little to amuse me these days. The other thing lurking in the background after all this reminiscing is the stark reminder of how old I am now and how in the hell did I get to be almost 65 this fast. FWIW, R.L.
  10. Yes indeed those were the golden days. 2000 was my last time there also. Looks like the expiration date for this place was reached for a few of us all at the same time. I really liked Kent and Kathy too. Nice folks. Kent would talk with you all day about Lahti's, 20mm and such. I was very saddened when he and Kathy divorced. I don't think he was ever the same after that. But how many of us that go through that ever are? I was also fortunate enough to come to know Bob Naess, whom I've also not seen in years. He was selling Russian Maxims belt feds with Sokolov mounts the last time I saw him for $6500!!! So it's been a while. I met and became friends with Bob Landies too. I've not seen Bob in years either. Karl Krotz, Bobs son in law, was usually the front guy at Bob's space under the "big top". Karl was really nice guy. Of course that's when there only was 1 covered vendor area. I hear there are more now. There was also a guy,a real character that directed traffic at K.C. once you were up to the old parking place on the right. "NY. Joe" . We would invite him into our camp to eat when you could camp almost where you want. He would let us stay where we were without anyone bothering us and would wander in throughout the the day to eat. I always wondered what happened to him. Then there was Hank Kaminski, my buddy. Most people only knew him as the guy with the trailer mounted black powder cannon. A true diamond in the rough, but a kinder heart you'll not find. I met Hank, Carol and son Micah at knob creek years ago.I loved these people. Unfortunately Hank has passed on, and like everything else times have changed. Not sure what year it was , maybe 2000. Seems someone had an issue with a porta potty and eliminated the threat with some sort of explosive device. Pretty funny to watch, but I think that may have been the event that ended camping for a few years. If you were not lucky enough to have been there during the "golden years" at K.C. you truly missed one of the best times in life. These are the people and memories I will cherish for life. R.L.

  13. Thanks again to everyone that sent recommendations previously. By chance through another business contact associated with our drilling business, we made contact with a new finishing vendor yesterday that is a certified Cerakote applicator locally. Dale and Brigette Miller in Front Royal Virginia were kind enough to take about 2 hr's yesterday to show me around their shop. What a great shop! What great folks!! This is a family owned business that really aims to please their customers on a one on one level. I personally inspected some firearms work they just did and it's absolutely top notch! Dale is a very artistic in his coating work. I left my McMillian picatinny base to be Cerakoted. They had a multi-manufacturer Cerakote color chip chart to pick the exact matching color. If you're in Virginia and are looking for a great shop that takes walk in or mail in work with quick turn around time this shop is one you should consider. Here's their contact info: Coatingsusa.com Brigette and Dale Miller, 116 Success Rd. Front Royal, VA. 22630 540-636-7911
  14. Mike, My original professional background is metallurgy/welding, so I'm kinda' familiar with plating and what it looks like, chrome or otherwise. These barrels absolutely are chrome plated in the chamber section of the barrel. Whether or not the barrel is plated all the way to the booster end I cannot say, but the chambers ARE chrome plated. These barrels are date stamped 2-34/1969 with a P inspectors stamp, the rest is in Hebrew. Hope that helps. R.L.
  15. These are brand new barrels, never been in a barrel extension. Barrels are IMI manufactured. Bought these from DLO about 40 years ago, been in protective tubes since. $260 for both ,shipped to lower 48. PMO only please. Thanks, R.L.
  16. What a mere shadow of it's past!!! So now the accommodations page is larger than the sponsor page, you know this place is continuing to suffer a slow, painful death. . I counted 17 sponsors on about 3/4 of a page. There used to be about 2-3 full pages of sponsors and a waiting list years long to shoot there. KInda' funny , after about 30 years I get a call from someone at K.C range a few years ago telling me that there's a place open now for me to shoot, and I better hurry because there are people behind me just waiting for their call too. I just laughed and told her you must be kidding. No thanks. So let me see now...I get to PAY to shoot for 3 days, am threatened with loss of this paid spot if I leave before Sunday. Spend hundreds, possibly a few thousand on ammo. Get to breathe in dust, cigarette smoke from the inbred, and put up with the constant retarded chatter of a myriad of armchair, Delta Force, Seal, special forces, black clad, ginormous bellied civi wanna-b morons. All so Kenny and company can make hundreds of thousands of dollars on my effort and dime. HMM , something just a little wrong with that one. UHHH , think I'll pass on future visits. So very glad I had the opportunity to go, back in the late 80's through 90's when it was really a lot of fun and there were still a lot of knowledgeable people around. Unfortunately a lot of the good people I knew that came there have passed on. Back when 1919's were $1500 from DLO and Mac 10's were $500 all day long. Yep back in the dinosaur days! Gone forever. So now it's $50 a person to camp in the mud with no amenities... I remember when it was $5 a day to camp. My how things have changed. R.L.
  17. This has probably been asked before, but if you don't mind, who do you guys recommend to do a Cerakote finish. I checked Randy at Arizona Response, and it it looks like all he does is Metacol now. All I need is a 30 min Picatinny base (stainless) for my Tac 50 Cerakoted. Thanks, R.L.
  18. Sorry folks, I don't make it a habit to talk about the dead but this guy has lived his life as a liar and a scoundrel. He was not hero, he did get captured, but so what , so did a lot of genuinely good military men. Some innocent servicemen died at the hand of this jackasses stupidity. Ask the survivors on the USS Forestal. Ask his fellow inmates at the Hanoi Hilton. McCain was a snitch and a coward. He was no American hero. General Schwarzkopf of Desert Storm fame...now that's a true American military hero. This guy was an impostor from day 1, A tabloid hero generated by the fake media. I say good riddance. This country will be better off without you. R.L.
  19. OMG..too funny! A lot of people have no clue how powerful water is. That car along with the zip lock bag would be floating away in minutes. Cars become floating pontoons until they fill up and sink unless it's tsunami force water, then they become missiles flying in the water. I lost a brand new 2011 Chevy Impala with about 200 miles on it when it floated up and traveled up the driveway full of water! I was sick watching that event!
  20. the information could save your guns, gear and personal belongings if they are located in a basement or flood prone garage if you live close to a source of water, small stream, lake etc. We've been dealing with flood warnings and flooding for the last 2 months. I'm so f-ing tired of this shit, I could spit. I was up for days on end manning pumps. The water is coming within feet of the house and last week it came under the garage door and up the floor incline almost to floor level on the first floor where all of my gun stuff is located. We had been using small skimmers, but that's really not enough capacity to handle these latest torrential downpours. I got tire od manning pumps all night and finally replaced the 3 skimmers with one Tsurumi 1 hp 3" discharge, electric pump. These pumps are the cats ass guys!!! Fast pumping and quiet. I core drilled a 14" hole in the lowest part of our driveway, dug out a sump hole under the slab and re poured concrete into the hole, formed a bottom to make a sump pit. We used the new pump last week during a 3" per hour downpour and this pump emptied the sump, in about 3 minutes! Tsurumi pumps are real quality pumps made in Japan, and are absolute commercial quality. Amazon had the best delivered price. 3" may be a bit large for average homeowner use, so 2" might suite your better, less $$ too. We use them for our drilling work too, so 3" is just right to run multiple drills or a road saw, pumping from a stream. North Star gas pumps sold by Northern Tool are very nice too, but these are for really bad flooding with thousands of gallons of water to remove. We also bought a North Star 4" trash pump, rated for 3/4" solids with a Honda 270 motor, in the event a lot of water gets into the house. It's pumping capacity is 24K gallons of water an hour!! With all of this crazy ass weather happening all over the country, better to have a suitable trash pump ready to use, rather than an afterthought. Better to have it and not need it , rather than to need it and not have it. FWIW, R.L.
  21. Anyone interested in ELR shooting get your wallets and reloading gear out. I just received my Ivey Shooting (Stephen Ivey) 200 min. base for my ELR rifles. After waiting 3 months they arrived and I was not disappointed. This heavy duty uni-base/ring combo is a beast.(comes in 30,34,35 and 40 mm). Very heavy duty and manufactured to extreme precision. This base gives you 200 minutes of elevation right out of the box, in addition to the elevation of your scope. In the case of a Nightforce NXS or ATACR scope that's an additional 200 minutes on top of the 100 minutes of the scope! This will allow you to shoot out to 4K yards, as long as your rifle and your skills are up to the task. They are not cheap, but nothing well made is. Between $650-$850 depending on which model. RTM 50 is the generic model #. Anyone interested email me and I'll give you a direct phone number to call and talk to Clay. It's his private cell #, so I'm not putting it out there. R.L. 22. Everyone's ancestors here in the USA (unless your Native American) came from another country in the past. Mine came from Wales over 250 years ago. My family has worked in PA coal mines, fought in wars for this country, worked hard and CONTRIBUTED to this Great Country. They asked for nothing, and worked for everything, spoke English and adapted to the American lifestyle. These illegal, stinky, smelly, uneducated POS that float up from the toilet bowl on our shores and borders, offer NOTHING to this country. Except an additional tax burden to teach their illiterate little bastards at our citizen funded schools. And pay higher insurance claims for the drunk illegal bastards that kill innocent American citizens that have no insurance, no drivers license. The first thing these fxcks do is head to the nearest state agency that offers free shxt for "immigrants". UHH someone forgot the first part "ILLEGAL". Imagine...they are illegal, then they start to demand free sxit like we owe them something!! The balls of these trash people is only matched by the stupidity of the liberal assholes that help them get assistance and legal representation to stay here. If every concerned American would stand up and DEMAND that every one of these trash fxckers and their little anchor bastards be removed form our country NOW, the tax burden on every American would go down probably 50% just from not having to build new schools to educate people who don't belong here in the first place. AMERICA FOR AMERICANS, the rest of you illegal parasites get the fxck out of my country!!!!!!!! Phew...that felt good! R.L. AKA Welsh Warrior
  23. Yep they do the same stuff here. 20 people in a house designed AND ZONED for single family use. Prince William Co used to enforce the zoning laws...no more. They pave over the grass, park 10+ cars to a house plus on the street. In addition the slimy fxcks resister their vehicles in MD instead of Va so they avoid paying personal property tax. A lot of these dirt fxcks have no license, no insurance and are repeat offenders. A lot are sex offenders...seems they like little boys and girls. Don't believe me, check out the Virginia State Police sex offenders list online. Prince William Co is a sanctuary county. The local board of supervisors does not not give 2 sxits about the legal citizens here. The quality of life in this county is in the toilet. MS 13, trash neighborhoods, filthy living standards. Drunk illegals kill innocent citizens all the time from drunk driving in this county, no consequences, they repeat time after time. The local builders love these worthless POS because they work so cheap. Why pay a professional carpenter $45 an hour, you can get 3 illegal POS to work for that. The quality of the work these people do is worse than a high school first year shop class. I know first hand I work for every national builder in this area. Don't be fooled by the B.S. that these are hard working people looking for a better life...yea on our dime. They are here ONLY because big home builders, local government and the lending institutions want them here. In the mean time these parasite realtors, bankers and builders, BOS members, return to their homes in Great Falls, Georgetown, Dominion Valley and the like in a gated community with private security and could give 2 sxits. Send these mf'er's back to their sxit hole countries NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
